In a release issued by Lagos Command NSCDC PRO,a Deputy Superintendent of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp Abolurin Oluwaseun read that ,
” Commandant Eweka promises zero tolerance to oil pipeline vandalism, smuggling of oil products and other forms of illegal oil dealings in the state.
” In line with the renewed and re – invigorated efforts of the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Commandant Eweka Edenabu Okoro, msc, acma, cna, against all forms of economic sabotage and other kinds of criminality, in Lagos State, the Marine and Anti – Vandal team of the Badagry division, Lagos Command, who were on routine surveillance and patrol, on Tuesday, 27th September, 2022, at about 23:45hrs, intercepted and recovered about seven hundred and twenty ( 720 ), thirty ( 30 ) litres’ keg each, of oil products identified, to be Premium Motor Spirit ( PMS ), also known as petrol, along Yafin creek, Badagry, where they had been kept in batches, by yet to be identified, suspected oil vandals, with the motive to reload them all into a boat and proceed on their journey.

” The Divisional Officer, Badagry Division, Lagos State Command, Chief Superintendent of Corps ( CSC ) Akinyemi Rasheed Ayodeji, who led the operation, with his gallant officers and men further reiterated that this gallant operation, by the division will further re – affirm, their relentless commitment to ensuring excellent performance, towards fulfilling the mandates of the Corps in the state.
” The suspected stolen oil product, amounting to about twenty one thousand, six hundred litres, is estimated to be around four million naira only, at market value” the Divisional Officer, Badagry Division, CSC Akinyemi Ayodeji said in a report.
” The Commandant, while affirming the Command’s unflinching commitment, towards eradicating all forms of economic sabotage, in the state, during an interview with news men, at the Badagry division, today, has immediately ordered, the Anti – vandal and Exhibit unit of the Command, to evacuate the recovered oil products back to the Command’s Head Quarters, in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, in a bid, to carry out further intelligent investigation, on the matter and find a lasting solution to such ugly economic sabotage in the area and the state in general .
Commandant Eweka Okoro has also directed that the security of lives and property and the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure ( CNAI ), in the Badagry Division and other oil pipeline areas, in the State be continuously, beefed up especially, now that it remains few months to the end of the year, where some citizens may want to exhibit their desperation for illicit money at all cost, against the patriotic and collective development of the nation’s economy.
Finally, Commandant Eweka Okoro also seized, the occasion of this excellent and gallant operation, to further reiterate the Command’s readiness and commitment to ensuring a zero tolerance against oil pipeline vandalism and other forms of criminality in the state. He further assured the good people of Lagos and the Government of the state, of his unflinching commitment and dedication towards sustaining the already established peace and security in the state. He promised that the Corps will continue to work assiduously and laboriously, with the Government and other security services or agencies and stakeholders in the state, especially, as the entire country is about to commence electioneering campaign and other political activities geared towards the 2023 general elections.
“The renewed operational and tactical strategy of the Command has now yielded positive results, in the fight, against oil pipeline vandalism in Lagos State and the Command promises zero tolerance to oil pipeline vandalism, smuggling of oil products, illegal oil dealings and other forms of economic sabotage in the state.”
Addressing the newsmen NSCDC Commandant Lagos State Command , Commandant Eweka Okoro Edenabu Douglas,said, that,” today we are here as part of our statistory duty to make parade of recovery we just made through the anti-vandals and Marine Unit of Badagry Division .
” Today we are parading 720 kegs of 30Ltrs Suspected to be Vandalized Premium Motor Spirit Petrol which was about to Smuggled to our neighbouring Country republic of Benin.
” This is a dastardly act but we found it to be a sabotage.

” In enough shell ,these are Petrol in which the Government have paid a lot of Subsidies upon.
” They paid a lot of Subsidies.
” The Petrol as at which today amount to about 21,000 ,600 Ltrs of PMS ,and with the value of nothing less than N4,000 000 000.
” These are Product people saboteur to the economic ,you can emagine how the economic is dreaming because of PMS Subsidies Corrupt and ineptitude personnel citizenry of the country are trying to sabotage the efforts of the Federal Government, in a way to make money on their own personal volition.
” We the NSCDC saddled with the responsibility of bringing in all these saboteur to book.
” We will no relent in our effort to trap them down and put a stop to saboteurs of the Nigeria Nation.
” That is why we are here to parade them.
” We have our men both the regular staff and the intelligent groups,and through our credible intelligent information on Tuesday at about 2345pm late in the night our men through credible intelligent intervene and intercepts all these smuggled Petrol at Yafin Creeks in Badagry and these has been a painstaking exercise they’ve been doing for the past nothing less than Two weeks they’ve been mounting pressure to be able to arrest the suspected saboteurs .
” After we were able to nab them Tuesday September,27 2022.
” Let me put it straight,the suspect, we’ve been mounting pressure on them for the past two weeks,and each time we are about capturing them they normally escape maybe they have their own informant supplying them information of our coming to Apprehend them.
” Not risking us loosing this products because we have to storm on them and as at that time there wasn’t suspect.
” I’m telling you now creditably our intelligent unit are working on those people that left these vessels in the Creeks within the next Two days we will get nab them , because we know the identity,we are looking up to where we are going to nab them,they are on the run but the wrath of the lord will arrest them.
” The more they work, they labour,their labour is in vein,their labour will be disturbed
You can emagine Customs arrested some, today it is the turn of NSCDC.
“What are we doing?.
” We are trying to put and end to sabotage to the Nigeria economy
” We are working day and night,the more they see us doing our regular duties day will be discouraged in loosing their illegally gotten wealth.
“So I’m quite sure that in a matter at Jiffi ,is just a matter of time
” Badagry has not been like this before,they will be one way or the other deterd .
” If anyone is caught they will face the wrath of the Law and sentenced them.
” The people of Badagry are good people,but of recent just that unscrupulous of them are getting involved in criminality.
” I’m just telling you that the Security now are working hand in hand to neat all their criminality act in bond,we are making all efforts to put an end to all these,and be rest assured that all these unscrupulous elements will be flush out of Badagry,and Badagry will remain calm.
” The people of Badagry are good People,but of recent,the unscrupulous elements of them are getting involved in criminality.
” I’m just telling you now that the Security are working hand in hand to neat all their criminality act in bond.
” We are making all efforts to put an end to all these,and be rest assured that sooner or later,all these unscrupulous elements will be flush out of Badagry,and Badagry will remain calm.
” I’m only taking the advantages of the proximity of the town to the nearest neighbour which is Republic of Benin,but we will not allow them to continued to put in sabotage to the economy I can assure.
” My message to Badagry people and mostly Lagosians is that.
” Lagosians nor Badagry people are good People,
the few of unscrupulous elements , coursing distraction, engaging in criminalities,you should not encourage them,you should give credible information to the Security agent mostly Civil Defense,we will act on this and we will quit them away from the society.
” What I will only tell them is when you see something,say something.
” Don’t encourage evil,the economy of the country can not carry evil anymore we should not encourage evil,we should be patriotic and do what is right as far as economy is concerned.
” We have a very cordial relationship in Badagry.

” We have a very good robust relationship with them
” Let me tell you that this arrest was ochestrated by able citizens of Badagry.
“They were the one that gave us credible intelligent and we acted on it,and we actually nab these people.
” They’ve been supportive and they have been good to us.
” We will never never fail to appreciate all the good effort they are doing,but as for the unscrupulous elements thought they want to run this town down by giving it a bad name, enough is enough they will not have anywhere to operate sooner or later.” He Concluded
