The Chief of Army staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has charged the graduating trainees of Advance Infantry Training Course to remain resilience, fearless and confidence in the course of discharging their duties.
The COAS gave the charge during the graduation ceremony. He said the training was organised for selected soldiers of 80 Regular Recruit Intakes whom were drawn from various Nigerian Army (NA) formation, commands and control elements to produce swift Responsive soldiers in accordance with his vision “ To have a professional Nigerian Army Ready to Accomplish Assigned Missions within a joint Environment in Defence of Nigeria.”.
This training which commenced from 6th September to 20th December 2021 with a total number of 518 soldiers was aimed at developing a lethal fighting force with a high intensity in Advance Infantry Training to be deployed in any theatre of operation.
Lt Gen Yahaya further stated that, he was impress with reports he received concerning the high skills acquired and the keen interest and enthusiasm the participants have shown throughout their training period and he has confirmed to be true with what he has seen from the technical shooting, small team movement with Amour Fighting Vehicles and the small team movement with support weapons.
He stated that, with the insecurity challenges facing the country, much is expected of them. Thus, the training has equipped the participants with the skills required and it is pertinent to note the advance training was one of its kind.
The COAS also urged the participants to utilised the skills they have acquired during their training in tackling insurgency, banditry and criminal activities hampering the peace and stability of our beloved Nation as he look forward to receiving pleasing reports of their performance in the field and he wished them good luck and declared the Exercise RESTORE HOPE closed.
In the same vein, The Chief of Army staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya commissioned the Reactivated Nigerian Army school of Artillery (NASA) Water Works Project.
Hybridnews reports that the Reactivated NASA Water Works Project was initially a mini dam which was constructed in 1969 when the school was established and completed in 1972, was relocated to Kontagora in 1991 and was abandoned for over 30 years before it was later moved back to Kachia in 2008.
Water had become an issue then and soldiers and their families resorted to other means and with the efforts of the Army Headquarters the water works is now in full use with capacity of 4.5 Million liters for the surface tank and 35000 liters for the overhead tank.
