Tears Admist As Madam Maria Akra Remains Committed To Mother Earth

Mrs. Maria Umoh Akra (Nee Fred) was committed to Mother Earth on Friday after a burial service held by the Assemblies of God Church at her residence at No. 1 Aluwe Street, Ita-Oluwo Community, Ogun State.
Madam Maria was born into the family of High Chief Akan Fred in 1954 in Etina Community in the Ikot-Udobia Local Government Area of Akwa-Ibom State. She attended Saint Martins Primary School, Ikot-Udobia, in 1959 and pursued her education career at Shepard Comprehensive High School, Ikot-Abasi Etinan, in Akwa Ibom State, from 1960 to 1966.
In pursuit of a better life, she migrated to Lagos in the year 1967 to start up her life, where she met the love of her life, High Chief Umoh Akra, in the year 1974 until she joined her ancestor on November 23, 2023.

In a bid of farewell to the deceased, Pastor Michael Ogbaja, in his sermon, pinpointed the holy Bible, referencing Ecclesiastes Chapter 7 verses 1 and 2, which pinpointed two types of death: one to eternity and the other to hell. Pastor Ogbaja commanded the virtues of Madam Akra, who died at 70, for her selfless service in the household of God.
He exhorted his audience to shun the life of sin, according to him,” not to miss their maker. Prayers were also offered to God to uphold the family Madam Akra left behind.
The deceased was survived by children and grandchildren; among them is the popular and award-winning journalist Luck Lawal, publisher of People’s Daily Info.
Madam Maria Umoh Akra’s remains were committed to Mother Earth at Sabo Cemetery.
At the ceremony the eldest son, Mr. Joel Umoh, said, he’s going to miss his mum as she was the one who inspired his Profession.
The deceased only Daughter, the award winning journalist and the publisher of People’s Daily Info News “Mrs Favour Umoh Akra Lawal” also gave her remark in tears as she was asked how she felt when the News of the Death got to her.
In her remarks, she said,” I was devastated and fainted after the News came to me because I had plans for her the week after she died.
The Eldest grandson Korede Lawal out of tears gave his remarks and said, “Grandma was an hardworking Woman who hate Laziness, if you were caught slacking beside her you were going to be caned”.
It was a season of tears on the faces of family and friends at the ceremony as they share goodwill messages to bid the deceased a farewell.
