Special Crack team of detectives headed by one Superintendent Bologi Abdullahi, recently deployed by the Office of the Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun ,over the sudden disappearance of an ex-banker turned property developer ,Mr.Monday Tony Ojeaburu, has finally made a breakthrough in the case. This was sequel to the arrest of one Bukola Funmilayo Popoola Ojeaburu ,who claims to be one of the wives of the missing person.
Her arrest was effected earlier in the week following a week-long deployment of technology and intelligence led operation at Bartom Hotel,Igbesa,Ogun State.
Bukola Funmilayo Popoola Ojeaburu,Timilehin Ojeaburu amongst others, are now cooling off their heels behind the bars in a dingy cell at Alagbon Close,Lagos.
Sources informed our Correspondent that,Bukola Popoola Ojeaburu, is seen within the police circles, not only the arrow Head in the shady, fraudulent and suspicious circumstances that led to the disappearance of her husband, but as well as the kingpin in the illegal sales of the missing man’s sprawling properties across the country.
Before the arrests were made, there had been a brewing war amongst family members who simply engaged in bickerings as the matter takes twists and turns.
Competent sources within the family had earlier told our Correspondent that ,the ex-banker Monday Tony Ojeaburu had on 13th December 2021 travelled to Bayelsa State, to supervise one of his newly acquired landed Properties.
He was said to have boarded Agofure bus at Jibowu Park and arrived his destination at about 5.45 PM.
The ex banker, was said to have from Bayelsa put up a call to his younger brother, one James Bankole Ojeaburu ,intimating him of his successful arrival in Bayelsa.
The property guru was also said to have told James in a plain language that he (the ex-banker) would be visiting one of his wives known as Mrs.Favour Ojeaburu, who bore him his only female child, called Miss Olubunmi Ojeaburu amongst other directives.
According to the sources,at about 9.45PM on the same day of his arrival ,one Azeez who claimed to be calling from Agofure Motors informed him that the bus reportedly boarded by Mr.Monday Tony Ojeaburu, was involved in a fatal accident .
“The family put up a call to his mobile phone. It rang intermittently but without anyone picking it up.
“On 16th December, 2021,the younger brother of the property magnate travelled down to Baylesa only to be told that,a Jeep rammed into the vehicle boarded by his brother, and that the vehicle caught fire and killed the passengers. We asked questions if anyone survived the accident. We asked questions relating to the corpses of the victims. We asked questions relating to autopsy and police reports-to no avail. The stories were no way in consonance with true events.Inconstitencies were just too many”.
Speaking with our Correspondence over the issue during further enquiries was James Bankole Ojeaburu himself, said that,”there had been a lingering problem between my disappearing brother and one of his wives who did not have any child for him ,Mrs Faith Temene in Yenagoa,Bayelsa .
“The feud was over the control of Estates in Bayelsa. It was shocking to notice that, the woman has swiftly taken over the control of his Estates by sending away the accredited agent in-charge to the detriment of the , aged mother of the missing person. And beyond this, she seems not concern about the plight of the missing person.”
Bankole said that, the matter was promptly reported to the Department of State Security Services and the police at the State Criminal Investigation Department,Panti Lagos who swung into action.
“The duo of Inspector Ebenezer Omirefa and Sergeant Adewuyi Adeyinka of SCID were assigned to the case”.
The officers were initially said to have made progress in the matter by arresting suspects who made confessional statements. “The matter soon degenerated into a child’s play as those arrested in the wake of investigation were left off the hook without informing complainants, while those charged to the court were merely for the offences that are not related to the matter under investigation.
Despite the hasty charge of the suspects said to be complicit in the disappearance of Mr. Monday Tony Ojeaburu, to court by the police at Panti,”the Nominal complainant in the matter was not informed and this was done in isolation.”
Meanwhile, the Successful arrest was made possible due to the instruction of extremely intelligent and proactive AIG Abdulyari of the FIB, FCID Headquarters at Abuja who instructed one Asp Ezekiel Tilo of the X- Squad Department HQ,Abuja to return all case files which he was investigating in Abuja back to Alagbon, just as Faith Temene Edwin, was busy helping herself in criminal conversion by not only erecting signposts with her name on the missing man’s Property at Elebele, Opolo area in Bayelsa State, but also allegedly continued to sell the Missing Man’s property and collect rents without family approval.
Further checks revealed that, another of the Missing Man’s girlfriend, who reportedly cohabitted with him, one Bidemi Akashoro Taofikat also criminally with an intent, reportedly erected secretly , a graveyard inside the missing man’s Property .
Bukola Ojeaburu arrested in connection with the development…
After her arrest,Bukola Funmilayo Popoola Ojeaburu confessed voluntarily to have sold about five houses at Itire by Morgan, another at Olajide Street,Another at Odushina by Ladipo ,another at Bamgboye and also at Yusuf street. She was stopped from removing the roof over tenants houses at Ladipo by the eagle eyed cops who swung upon the property and stopped some dangerous thugs led by one Monday and Agula who had planned with hoodlums to remove the roofs and eject the tenants using self help.
SP Bologi Abdullahi of the AIG Yahaya Abubakar Special Crack team at FCID Annex, said “they were acting in line with the IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s order ,passed down to commence an unbiased and proactive investigation so as to make sure law and order is maintained, restore peace and get to the root of the missing man’s disappearance at all costs ,following laid down procedures of law enforcement”.
