The Lagos State Resident Electoral Commissioner Mr Olusegun Agbaje MFR Mni today Tuesday 25th October, 2022 paid official visit to the Sector Commander FRSC Lagos Sector Command Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide at his Ojodu Berger office.

Mr Agbaje in his speech while stating the purpose of the visit appreciated the Sector Commander and his management team for the sustained collaboration with the commission over the years.

He stated that the visit is to further consolidate on the existing relationship and solicit for partnership towards the conduct of a peaceful General elections for the President, Senate, Governorship and other elections coming up in 2023.

He charged the Command to use its platform to help continually create awareness for drivers who usually convey electoral materials to polling booths by ensuring that their vehicles meet up to minimum safety standards and also availability of valid drivers Licence.

Agbaje, also said in few weeks ” INEC will display the voter register at all registration area/wards within the State.

He also stated that “As stakeholders in Nigeria, we must work together for a common goal of a free and fair election”.

In his response, the Sector Commander Lagos Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide commended the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the visit which he stressed was apt.
He said, the National Headquarters has already issued directives to Commands in respect of the forthcoming General elections.
He commended INEC for their continuous improvement which has attracted International interest.
He promised that there will be collaboration and support in terms of manpower availability.

Speaking further, he said “there is need for early preparation in terms of checking for minimum safety standards for vehicles conveying Electoral materials”.

He commended the sustainance of INEC integrity in recent times.
