Sir Frank Ibezim, the Distinguished Senator, representing Okigwe Zone in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly, has initiated moves towards uplifting the economy of his constituency through increased agricultural production.
He has, therefore, distributed improved seedlings and fertilizers to farmers in his district.
According to him: “As we face the year’s farming period, we have successfully distributed seedlings to over 250 farmers in all the six local governments of Imo North district after giving a workshop program on how to achieve maximum agricultural yields, this we carried out at the National Open University campus, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area.”
The senator, who noted his commitment to improving the economy of Okigwe Zone had remained unwavering, added:
“We didn’t just stop there, we also went ahead to distribute bags of fertilizers to farmers in our zone to assist in enhancing productivity of their agricultural proceeds.
“It’s my hope and prayer that these new steps targeted at increasing the availability of agricultural products and food in our zone achieve maximum impact.”
The distinguished senator has consistently done programmes that impacted positively on his appreciative constituents since he took over the seat vacated by the late Senator Ben Uwajumogu in April last year.
