Imo ICT institute bill set for pubic hearing

The Senate Committee on ICT and Cyber Security is set to hold a public to a Public Hearing on a bill for an Act to Establish the Institute of Information and Communication Technology Nsu, Imo State and for other Matters Connected Therewith, 2023 (SB 1105)
According to a statement signed by the clerk of the committee, Ayo O E Agon, members of the public have been invited to the hearing, which is slated for Monday, April 3, 2023 at
Room 107, 1st Floor, Senate Building, of the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, by 12 noon.
Recall that the senator, representing Imo North, Sir Frank Ibezim, sponsored the bill for the establishment of an Information and Communications Technology Institute.
According to Sen. Ibezim, “The ICT institute, when established, will carry out scientific and applied research in modern information technology applications to optimise learning processes and some support systems. It will also provide dynamic learning infrastructure with quality education through rigorous teaching and research methodologies in information and communication technology, ICT, to provide academic programmes for professionals and experts in the field of ICT, electronics, software engineering, and telemedicine.”
