Senator Athan Achonu, Labour Party gubernatorial candidate for Imo Sate for the forthcoming election in November, has continued efforts to mobilise support for his quest to wrest power from the incumbent governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma.
In the light of this, he is billed to meet with select Imo indigenes living in Lagos, even as he has hosted a similar meeting with them in Abuja in Maitama.
The event, which was anchored by AIG Charles Agomuo (rtd.), attracted the cream of Imo stakeholders and leaders from the three senatorial zones of Imo State.
Senator Achonu reassured the gathering that he is in the governorship race to give Imo people the platform to take back their State, which the APC government in charge now, has plunged into insecurity, administrative rascality, lack of meaningful development and joblessness for our youths.
He pledged that he and Hon. Tony Nwulu, his deputy gubernatorial candidate, also present at the occasion, would bring sanity in governance, make the state a safe haven for investment, a tourism destination, and activate their planned human capital development initiatives in order to arm our youths with the necessary skillsets that would make them relevant for the opportunities offered by the new age.
In his parting words, he made everyone present to understand the significance of his ‘Aku-Ruo-Ulo’ mantra and also reemphasized that the time to #TakeBackImo is now.
Earlier on Friday, the LP Governorship Candidate, Athan Achonu hosted his Kinsmen from Umunumo Autonomous Community, Ehime Mbano, Imo State residing in Abuja. He officially informed them of his interest in contesting the governorship of Imo State. He sought for their blessings and support.
