The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Lagos State Sector Command has bagged another award for its contribution to service delivery, this time in visual arts.

The award which was in recognition of the Lagos State Sector command’s selfless service to saving human lives and immense contributions to national development was given by ArTrue Productions at a ceremony held over the weekend at the Glover Memorial Hall, Marina Lagos.

The award which was endorsed by the National body of the Society for the Visual Arts; Nike Arts and the Rotary Club of Badaro Lagos was received on behalf of the Sector Commander, Lagos State, Olusegun Ogungbemide by the Unit Commander of Lekki Command of the FRSC, Assistant Corps Commander Sani Abdullahi.

Speaking on the awards, Otunba Nkang Ini Dan, stated that the spirit behind the awards was to recognize individuals and corporate organisations that have made immense contributions to the work of arts and artists in the country, particularly in the area of visual arts.

He noted that FRSC by its commitment to the campaign for safer road environment has been outstanding in its performance in service delivery in Lagos state.

“Lagos Sector Command of the FRSC has been particularly forthcoming in collaborating with us in the promotion of arts.

 

We see that as an innovative way of passing the messages of road safety to members of the public who stand to benefit more from the enlightenment,” he stated.

“We believe that this award will further motivate the command to do even more especially in the area of using visual arts to promote the cause of safer road environment not only in Lagos State, but Nigeria at large,” Nkang added.

The Sector Commander Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide in expressing appreciation for the award, thanked the organisers for the recognition.

 

He said the award will motivate the command to do more in the service of saving lives.

As part of the well attended program, renowned artists and popular comedians in Lagos graced the occasion to showcase their talents to the satisfaction of the participants who had swell time.
