The empowerment programme of the senator, representing Imo North Senatorial District, Sir Frank Ibezim, has begun bearing fruits.
Sixty beneficiaries, who passed out of the training programme, have now proudly showcased their products.
The beneficiaries were drawn, ten each, from the six local governments of the Senatorial District, and trained on confectionery, agro products and packaging for export.
The lawmaker also gave them monetary start-up support.
According to him: “All that we have been able to put together is targeted towards achieving one common goal, which is improving the standard of living of our people,” the senator said happily, as he received some products produced and packaged by the elated beneficiaries.
He also promised to deploy every available means to see that he does his best for his constituents, adding that the the SFI skill acquisition programme has made a remarkable improvement.
Only recently, Ibezim flagged off an ambitious street light project in the constituency.
Over 400 solar street lights were installed across major markets, strategic areas, villages, and churches, even extending to several individuals in the six local governments that comprise the zone.
The blaze of lights have enabled the evening markets and other business activities to come alive hence impacting the economy of the zone positively.
