Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Fayoade Mustapha Adegoke, has established a six-man panel to investigate alleged human rights abuse at Maroko Police Station.
The panel, comprising DCP Ajao S. Adewale, ACP Ogunsakin Gbenga, Mr. Emma Nndozie, Comrade Prince Adeoye Adewunmi, Ivy Kanu, and Barrister Mrs. Blessing Afe, will probe the incident involving a woman who claimed she was detained alongside males and minors.
The investigation follows a viral video and aligns with the police force’s commitment to respecting human rights and addressing gender-related issues.
The panel will be formally inaugurated at the M.D Abubakar Conference Hall, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 12:00 noon.
