APC inducts 1265 support groups in Lagos

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) directorate of South-West support groups, has inducted a coalition of no fewer than 1265l support groups in Lagos State.
During the well-attended event, the Assistant Secretary, Lagos State Directorate of Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign council,Hon. Olaniyi Israel Fadare, the Assistant Secretary of PCC Support Groups Coordination South West and Coordinator for the Lagos State Support Groups , acknowledged all leaders of the party, including the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, the Director General of the campaign council and Governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong, and the Head of the stale campaign council, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke is the Secretary General of Presidential Campaign Council ,Mr. Sunday Obanubi, a member of the PCC Support Groups Coordination South West serves as the ICT Director for the region and Secretary for Lagos State team, among several others.
He expressed delight with the special and historical occasion of the inauguration of the Tinubu/shettima presidential campaign council PCC South-west Support Groups in Support of its collective aspirant and yearning for a good and better Nigeria, which is tagged ‘Renewed Hope’.
According to him the mission of the group is to support, encourage and promote visionary, patriotic, credible and competent leadership with manifest capacity and a sense of urgency, capable of making a difference in quality services delivery and in good governance.
He said the inauguration of the support groups is a bold and decisive step to alter our narratives and secure our future as a nation. I wish to commend our stakeholders for their vision and political will in this direction. As a single structure, they must work together with common objectives, aspirations and goals.
According to the Support groups, their coming together was mainly informed by the need for a formidable and popular grassroots support base for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his quest to become the next president and commander-in-chief of the Armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come May 29, 2023, through strategic contacts and engagements with major and critical stakeholders.
The groups anchored their support on the kind of leadership Tinubu provided when he served as Governor of Lagos State, which set up massive, remarkable pillars that have remained as watersheds and the lasting cornerstone of the state’s phenomenal socio-economic foundation.
Fadare added: “Our principal enjoys the popular and massive support of most Nigerians, cutting across all divides. We must protect this enormous goodwill jealously. We must, therefore, be organized, responsible and law-abiding at all times to maintain this enviable tempo of support and solidarity.
“As a support group, our activities and programmes must be in conformity with the rules of engagement as allowed by law, while our commitment and disposition to peaceful support, mobilization and harmonious co-existence are total.”
He promised that harmonized guidelines of various pro-Tinubu groups would be released to the state’s steering committees immediately in order to streamline their operations.
Also Speaking,the immediate past Chairman Shomolu Local Government, Olorogun Gbolahan Bagostowe ,said that ,” In the coming year 2023 we should be expecting a good thing to come out in Nigeria because God has chosen Asiwaju to rule Nigeria for us and we Must give him the total support,all things we need to do is just to give him full support so that he can become the president of Nigeria.
” Well those that have registered last year have been given their PVC which have been returned back to their ward where you will now officially collect at your ward level and they are making it easy.
” In the olden days we use to register at the polling unit and you will collect your card at the polling unit, but now they have returned it back to the ward .
I have been there my own card was defaced and I re registered they said December or January,but they’ve pasted the names and I saw my name they said I should come by December or January.
” My advise to other colleagues is that they should go and check their names so that they can collect the card in time.
” The group I fall into is Shomolu Community forum.
” In my own local government I can give them 500 people to mobilize on Saturday
Also Speaking Engr. Atinuke Wuraola Owolabi said that ,” INEC has just newly introduced (BVAS) Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, developed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to inject technological impetus into our electoral system must be worked on to minimise the suffering of voters.
It has caused a lot of anger and frustration in the three instances it was deployed. These were the Isoko South 1 State Constituency election on September 11, 2021; the Anambra State Governorship election of November 9, 2021 and the just-concluded FCT Area Council elections on February 12, 2022.
The BVAS in most cases failed to do its job efficiently. Many people who came out to vote had to remain under the sweltering sun all day.
INEC’s engineers and technical partners must do all in their power to improve the BVAS as we prepare for the Ekiti State and Osun State governorship elections as well as the all-important general elections of 2023.INEC under Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has displayed commendable proactiveness towards ensuring our seamless transition to a technology-driven voting process where human interference with the balloting and result declaration processes will be minimal. It has opened up several online portals for continued registration of voters, CVR, and the INEC Result Viewing Portal, IREV.
The Commission’s engineers designed the INEC Voter Enrolment Device, IVED, which was manufactured abroad. It is this device that is used as the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System. It is intended as an improvement on the Smart Card Reader, SCR, introduced by Prof. Attahiru Jega.
This device has shown its ability to produce cleaner elections as multiple voting has been cut off.But its frequent slow or non-functionality exasperates and disenfranchises voters. It is capable of discouraging many from coming out to vote.
INEC must do something about it pronto. Nigerians are watching to see if the next series of off-cycle elections and bye-elections will witness an improved functionality of this accreditation device. It will help them decide to vote or not to bother.
The discriminate adoption of the Incident Form in some parts of the country in place of the SCR led to suspicious voter turnouts that favoured the eventual winner.If the BVAS is not immediately addressed, the same thing can happen in 2023.
That will defeat the Mahmood Yakubu INEC’s good intentions to switch us over to technology for greater efficiency.

” You should let your followers know that ,only 18years and above can only be allowed to vote.
” If your followers is not up to 18 years and above it has no meaning.

” BVAS will be deployed in all the Polling unit
