The former speaker of Imo State House of Assemby, Rt. Hon. Lawman Duruji, has regained his freedom thus eliciting great relief among his worried kinsmen in Nsu, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state.
Duruji was attacked and abducted by unknown gunmen on his way from a function last Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Details of his release and if ransom was paid are not yet available but family sources said he returned home this morning.
President General, Nsu Development Union, NDU, Comrade Ikechukwu Chukwunyere, KSC, and Barr. Mike Onyekachi, Secretary General, NDU, had in a letter to Governor Hope Uzodinma, appealed for his intervention to ensure Duruji’s safety and quick return.
