The traffic personnel attached to ilasamaja Divisional Headquarters was this morning controlling traffic, stopping vehicles to convey Students to various School in Okota road junction, Cele express area of Oshodi-Isolo local government, a suburb of Lagos state southwest Nigeria.
The Schools are as follows:
Okota Senior High School, Ijeshatedo Senior Grammar School, Okota Senior Secondary School, Central Secondary School, Ansar- UL deeen Senior Secondary School, Ajamoni Senior Secondary School, Okota Grammar School, Jeed Trinity primary & Secondary School, Oloku Senior Secondary School, Ansar-uL-deen Comprehensive High School Okota.
A Traffic Officer who pleaded anonymity, said, “ I have Children like them, I’m a Mother like them, at least if their Mother had made them to sleep early and woke up early hour to prepare them, the Children won’t be late for School, because I woke up around 4am and that moment my children are also waking up alongside with me.
” Just as the proverbial say goes ‘ Late to Bed ,early to Rise,’ and I will put them in School Bus.
She added that ,” Though it is not everybody that has that power to do all that, but we shouldn’t just be careless with our children, because they are our future leaders.
” Actually I was not sent to do all these, but because of humanity.
” In fact I love to do humanitarian services.
I did not pray for any man’s reward, but God’s reward.
” My reward is in heaven.
” Aside of been doing humanitarian work here in Cele Express, Okota Road we have witnessed so many things like when a kidnapper who pretended to be tricycle operator had already had already carried some students in his tricycle going with full speed before Grid lock held him in Okota junction and the tricycle was intercepted, the students were saved.
Ever since that day of the incident we have to ensure all motorcycle, vehicles, tricycles must convey the students to their school without collecting a dime from them.
” We don’t just put them on anyone we see but the one we know. We have over 15- 20 school in this axis but we must make sure they get to their schools at the appropriate time.
” The moment they get to their schools on time their brain will settle and be able to concentrate into their studies.
She Stated that ,”Children like that are the one doing very well in their studies, in fact they come out with flying colors in their examination.
” I want to encourage all our parents to imbibe it.
Though it is not easy but we will still continue to be trying till we succeed.
As they say “Education is the best Legacy” putting them through is part of Education.
” I mean to prepare them for School at the appropriate time are part of Education, which this is the first thing they will learn from you as a parent.
” The way I was thought in school, my lecturer made me to know that we have primary Education and Secondary Education.
” Primary Education is the one you actually learned from your parent, when your parent will tell you to go and bring this, go and bring that, go and brush your teeth, bath.
” These are the things they will teach you first before they will now teach you.
” In primary, they will also teach you how you can make mat, calabash, building of makeshift house, like artifacts e.t.c.
But Secondary, This is when the teachers will now teach you the secondary part of the Education.
” Though I’m not permitted to speak with the press but I just feel that is the right things to do as a parent because I’m not talking as a police, but talking as a mother”.She Concluded.
