A group of stakeholders in the Transport Industry in Lagos state has urged Lagosians and indeed Nigerians to be wary and careful in their driving particularly during the ember months.
The group TRAFFIC AMBASSADORS in a statement in Lagos, stated that all hands must be on deck, in ensuring that traffic laws are obeyed, and that people do not drive, under the influence of any drink or substance.
It called on the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), The Nigeria Police Traffic Station, Traffic Wardens Corps and The Federal Road Safety Commission to collaborate in the task of reducing road accidents particularly during the ember months.
The group stated that these bodies should be able to tackle such issues as worn-out tyres, fake spare-parts, overloading in buses, over-speeding, driving without mirrors, use of under-aged boys. The group also called on the regulatory bodies to enforce the laws banning the sale of alcohol within the premises of a Motor-Park, or garage in Lagos State.

It asked the enforcing authorities to take a look at all the Motor-Parks in the state, as their present conditions are nothing to write home about as the entire environment are usually filthy and crowded.
It added that this was not in consonance with the protocols and measures against the Covid 19 pandemic which is ravaging everywhere.
