President of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ahaji Ibikunle Tajudeen Baruwa has called for peace between the Former Leaders of the Union.
Peaceful solution and understanding was reached after the meeting which lasted for several hours held on Wednesday 25th of August, 2021 at the NURTW Zonal Office ‘Zone 2’ in Osun State.
The meeting was called consequence upon the recent clash between Former Leaders, Comrade Adebo Jakob aka Idajo (former chairman of NURTW Ondo State Chapter) and Mr Gbenga Ijalade (Former Deputy Chairman, NURTW Ondo State Chapter), hence the need for the immediate resolution to forestall the occurrence.
The NURTW National President Alhaji Ibikunle Baruwa during the meeting appealed to both parties to allow peace to reign, while calling for peaceful co-existence between them.
He also emphasized on the law and constitutions of the Union which are meant to be followed to maintain peace and orderliness.

He said that the crisis could have been avoided if he had been alerted the moment issues ensued.
At this meeting, The President of (NURTW), Alhaji Ibikunle Tajudeen Baruwa who explained the importance of peaceful co-existence among the members of this union, seriously appealed to the two sides that they should forget about the past and allow peace to reign by shunning every iota of acrimony among them.
“There is no development where there is no peace, Baruwa said.
He further admonished them to see themselves as one.
The NURTW President,Baruwa also used the opportunity to thank and appreciate the Governor of Ondo State for the way he handled the crisis.
According to him, “At the headquarters of our Union, we remain grateful to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, for the way he handled this crisis.
We thank you and we pray that Ondo State will continue to witness uninterrupted peace” for the support and most especially for always taking proactive measures to maintain peace in the State.
He described him as a true leader and lover of all.
To show his fatherly support to his members,the President of the NURTW promised to pay a visit to the family of the deceased.
He addressed the Former Chairman Comrade Adebo Jakob aka Idajo that the Governor has provided him a job he needed not disappoint the Union due to lack good behaviour.
Baruwa advised that no one needs to tarnish the opportunity given to him by the union with illicit character.
Baruwa said they can only assist you in securing a job but not executing it.
The meeting had in attendance Comrade Lekan Folorunsho aka Salami NURTW Zonal Chairman, the Oba Solomon Adejayan, the Oworofun of Lapahun Kingdom, Ondo State.
Also Notable NURTW Leaders Ondo State were present .
Comrade Adebo Jakob Former NURTW Ondo State and Gbenga Ijalade gave many thanks to President of (NURTW) for the fatherly role he played.
