The chairman of Lagos state Health Service Commission, Dr Atinuke Onayiga has commended the Medical Director of Isolo General Hospital, Dr Godwin Akhabhoa for his leadership and developmental effort.
Dr Onayiga gave the commendation at the Isolo General Hospital during a familiarization visit to the hospital. She was also happy with the ongoing upgrade, renovation and refurbishment of the hospital by the state Governor, Mr Babajide sanwolu
The Chairman of Lagos Health Service Commission said that the purpose of her team’s visit was to collaborate with the general hospitals in Lagos to make the health sector a world class one stop shop that will satisfy the health yearnings of the people.
Dr Onayiga expressed satisfaction that Dr Akhabhoa could achieve so much developmental project with internal generated revenue.
While being conducted round the hospital, Dr Onayiga observed that the x-ray, scan, HSG and mammogram machine should be in one place for easy accessibility.
At the accident and emergency ward, she recommended total refurbishment so that more beds can be provided to accommodate more patients. At the gas plant, she recommended that the hospital should start producing its own gas and be selling to others.
At Dental clinic, Dr Onayiga recommended that more space be provided to make the office more spacious.
Also speaking, Dr Olumuyiwa
a Solanke Commissioner 1, commended Dr Akhabhoa for demonstrating total accountability with the internally general revenue.
He also commended the management and staff of the hospital for the support and cooperation given to the Medical Director. He encouraged them to do more.
Earlier, the Medical Director, Dr Godwin Akhabhoa took time to show the visitors the pictorial account of his developmental initiative in the last four years before he took them round the hospital,
Other people on the team is Dr Olumuyiwa Olukoya, Commissioner 2, Dr Adedoyin Fetuga, Assistant Director from Directorate of medical services, Mr Moses Gboyega Head of public Affairs ,while the programme was attended by all heads of department and some staff.
