Operation Still Waters: Ticket Collector Beats Tea Vendor To Death Over N100 Ticket in Lagos, witness alleged cover up

A ticket collector in Oshodi Market, Lagos, has reportedly beaten a tea vendor to death over aN100 ticket.
The tea vendor, who just arrived at the market, was trying to sell to some market men and women when the ticket collector, who was said to be working for the Iyaloja General of Oshodi-Isolo, approached him and demanded money for ticket.
It was gathered that the deceased told him that he had just arrived at the market and requested that he should be given some time to make sales and then come and pay him.
However, the ticket collector got angry and allegedly knocked him dead.
Immediately he discovered he is going down the ticket collector took to his heal.
Effort to get the ticket collector proved abortive.
Some people, who were alleged to be working with the Lagos State Parks and Garages were accused of quickly removing the victim’s body and tried to cover up the matter.
Speaking at the scene of the incident, a source, who pleaded anonymity, said: “It is just too much for them in this market. This is another area Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-olu needs to really work on.
“A young man that left his house to come and look for what his family would eat had been knocked to death.
“That was how they almost killed somebody in front of my shop here in Oshodi.
“This tea vendor was a very gentleman; the moment he finished selling, he usually went his way. This was a young man you would never see exchanging words with anybody here in the market.”
When contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, a Superintendent of Police, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said he was not aware of the tragic incident.
