POLICE COMMISSIONER ADVOCATES FOR RESPECTFUL POLICING, PEACEFUL PROTESTS

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayode, embarked on a fact-finding mission to Area ‘K’ Morogbo Ijanikin in Badagry, Lagos, as part of efforts to enhance security in the region.
During the interview with a correspondence, he stated the significance of the visit was as part of his ongoing efforts to bolster security and improve policing strategies across the state. By doing so, He aims to identify areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance the overall security landscape in Area ‘K’ Morogbo Ijanikin, ultimately ensuring a safer and more secure environment for residents, businesses, and investors.
Commissioner Adegoke Fayode emphasized the importance of police officers conducting themselves with a high level of respect and adhering to the ethics of their profession. He stressed that officers should respect every individual they encounter, upholding the principles of fairness and dignity. This advice comes as a reminder to police officers to maintain a high level of professionalism in their daily interactions with the public.
In his remarks on the recent protest, Commissioner Fayode noted that peaceful demonstrations can be held without resorting to vandalism or property damage. He emphasized that individual rights, such as the right to life, should never be compromised for the sake of a project or agenda. Addressing the issue of checkpoints, Commissioner Fayode assured that those between Agbara and Badagry will be streamlined to ensure a comfortable and hassle-free experience for commuters.
