The Nigeria Police Force has inaugurated an anti-crime outreach program at Jiwa Town Hall in Jiwa Town, Abuja, as part of its efforts to intensify community-based anti-crime policing strategies. According to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), the program was launched on Tuesday.

The program, themed “Breaking the Circle: Parental Responsibility in Preventing Youth Crime,” was organized by the Police Campaign Against Cultism & Other Vices (POCACOV). It aims to address critical social issues impacting youth and foster a more resilient community.

Parents, local leaders, and youth representatives gathered to discuss strategies to combat cultism, drug misuse and abuse, and other social vices threatening youth well-being. The program introduced youth development and rehabilitation programs, skill acquisition projects, and distributed various palliatives including food, educational materials, clothing, and household items.

The Inspector-General of Police emphasized the importance of parental responsibility and proactive measures in youth crime prevention, encouraging a collaborative spirit among community members. By facilitating meaningful dialogue and bringing together diverse stakeholders, the Force aims to create a safer and more supportive environment for youth and families.

This initiative is part of the Nigeria Police Force’s efforts to promote trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the community. The Eagle Crime Awareness and Prevention Initiative has also collaborated with the Nigeria Police Force to launch a youth anti-crime movement in Lagos State.
