GTCO Fashion Weekend Showcases Top Designers and Creative Entrepreneurs, Highlighting Diverse Talent on the Runway

The GTCO Fashion Weekend celebrated its Disco Fashion 2024 showcase with an impressive gathering of local and international models, each bringing unique experiences and perspectives to the runway. This year’s event, supported by GTBank, featured a talented lineup of models who shared insights into their modeling journeys, challenges, and passion for fashion.
Davou Pwajok, a seasoned fashion model with six years of experience, returned to the GTBank runway for his fourth time. “It’s been years of work, and I’ve always auditioned for GTBank,” Pwajok shared, adding that modeling is “very profitable depending on how you run your brand.” A professional fashion stylist as well, he explained, “The more you model, the better you get.”
Favour Sunday, thrilled to be part of the GTCO Fashion 2024, expressed her excitement, saying, “Today’s event was massive and wonderful. I hope to be back next year.”
Aishat Mustapha, in her second year with GTCO, has faced her share of challenges in the industry. With three years of experience, she reflected, “The road is rough, but as you go, it gets better.” Her advice to aspiring models? “Keep trying; it will click someday.”
For Ruby, a recent graduate from the University of Calabar, where she majored in textile and fashion design, the event was a colorful and inspiring experience. “Today has been so vibrant, and everyone looks amazing,” she remarked. However, she acknowledged the challenges of being a fashion entrepreneur in Nigeria, noting that “funding is a big issue.”
First-time GTCO model Jackson described his excitement at being part of such an event. With four years of modeling experience, he said, “Today was fun; I enjoyed looking as stylish as everyone else.” Like many others, he pointed to casting as a significant hurdle in the industry.
