The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, Corps Commander Kehinde Ganiyu Hamzat, has announced the deployment of officers, men, and operational vehicles, including the two newly donated operational vehicles from the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) to ensure a safe and seamless 2025 Easter celebration across the state.

He made this known while addressing the media during a monitoring tour along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway corridor.

Corps Commander Hamzat stated that both Regular and Special Marshals have been strategically positioned across major highways, inner roads, and festive routes to ease vehicular movement and ensure safety for all road users throughout the 2925 Easter period.

“There will be standby ambulances positioned along critical corridors for swift emergency response and rescue operations. We are also collaborating with relevant traffic and emergency stakeholders to ensure smooth entry and exit of Lagos during this festive period,” he said.

He emphasized that mobile court operations will be active to swiftly prosecute traffic offenders, with a special focus on offences such as drunk driving, speeding, expired tyres, seat belt violation, and use of phones while driving.

The Sector Commander appealed to all motorists to adhere strictly to traffic rules and cooperate with traffic officers. He warned that reckless driving and route violations, particularly along high-risk corridors, would not be tolerated.

“Drivers must avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. One night of thrill should not lead to a lifetime of regret. Fix your wipers, drive cautiously, and remember, your family awaits you” he added.

He also urged pedestrians and other vulnerable road users to be vigilant, avoid unsafe road-crossing behaviors, and remain mindful of traffic flow.

FRSC Lagos remains committed to a crash-free celebration and encourages all residents to play their part in making this possible.
