In the light of the accident that happened today at the Pen cinema bridge, the Agege Local Government Chairmanship hopeful, Hon. Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel has sympathized with survivors while expressing gratitude to God that no lives were lost in the incident involving a fully loaded truck which fell off the bridge onto two empty buses packed underneath. He also thanked officers of LASTMA and LASEMA who were prompt to get to the incident scene, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.

The empathetic politician fondly called TOS shared with pressmen, ‘I am grateful to God for not allowing us to experience sorrow today in Agege. This incident would have brought untold pains to family, friends, and the entire Agege community but Mercy said no.’

‘Let me use the opportunity to sympathize with the driver who sustained major injuries, survivors who have minor injuries and the drivers of those damaged vehicles. May God help them recover fully.’

‘I thank our first responder agencies, very active agencies in Lagos State, LASTMA under the leadership of Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki and LASEMA for promptly getting to the accident scene. It saved us a lot of pains. Thank you very much.’

The press release of LASTMA indicates that ‘Preliminary inquiries suggest that the truck driver, who suffered grievous fractures to both hands, lost control of the vehicle while navigating the Pen Cinema Bridge. Consequently, the truck plunged from the bridge, landing upon the two commercial buses stationed beneath.’

‘LASTMA Officers, responding with remarkable alacrity, successfully extricated the severely injured driver and immediately entrusted him to officers of the Elere Police Division. He was subsequently conveyed to the General Hospital, Ile-Epo, for urgent medical intervention.’
